I was talking with a girl on the phone tonight. We may or may not be *getting to know each other better*. We'll call her Jennifer. Trading Places is a great movie btw. It's on Spike channel right now. Dan Akroyd wearing low-top Chuck Cons...man, FEELING GOOD LEWIS!!! You can't make a movie like this anymore. You get that Caddyshack feeling when you watch it. The comedy scale blows up. Insert Trading Places and the left over birthday cake my mom made me from Sunday night, and your average Wednesday night turns into a little thing I like to call your better than average Wednesday night. Heads up: Comcast supports its employees and keeps its community strong. A commercial just told me so.
The difference between men and woman(cuz they don't deserve a plural, which is another post for another day. Sorry) I'm on the phone with Jennifer and she's telling me about this letter she wrote her best friend from college. They used to live together in the dorms at NYU. Jennifer's friends name is Danielle. "He was wearing my Haaahrvard tie. Can you believe it? My Harvaaaahrd tie? Oh, shuuuure, like heeeee went to Haaahrvard!" So good. So she's telling me about this letter she wrote to Danielle after they'd been at college for a bit, so they could get to know each other better. Each wrote a letter to the other describing who they were(are) at that time. Pretty smart actually. You're like, what, 18, and you write your roommate a letter describing everything about yourself, your traits, the glowing parts of your personality, the negatives...like that you talk way to much during movies and those around you get unbearably annoyed. I remember starting college. It was pretty crazy. Personally, I think it was a great story and made me think about the first 'real' time I connected with my Freshman year roommate, Sam Pick. Oh, man the best scene in Trading Places, or any movie from 1983 for that matter.
"Zehda(sp?) Kai..Zehda Kai my friend...Neath the elms we sing our tones we're brothers 'till the end. Muffin in the bathroom stall, Margaret by the lake....Susan iiiiiinnn Richly hall, Constance on the make. Constance Freeey...Coooonstance Freeeeeeyyy....anytime you call... Constance would fulfill your needs....winter, spring...oooor faaaaaaall. 'that was great, that was really great. "And she stepped, ooohn the baaall." God damn it that's a great scene. In the tennis club. Amazing.
So Sam Pick and I have been hanging out for a couple days. We're chilling in our dorm room watching T.V. but haven't really said that much to one another. I mean, we're guys. I don't want to say much to him and he to me. We both like sports, he drinks like a fish and is from Vegas, my parents could be loggers his could have invented the automatic card shuffler, and we like it that way. So how do we break that ice? Maybe we write a letter to each other...maybe we give each other some nicknames or somethig. Like Cheezer or whatever. Or...
Maybe I'm laying on my bed watching SportsCenter and Sam's eating a huge box of JuJu Bees. I mean huge box of JuJu Bees. There's been probably 20 minutes of silence and all of a sudden I feel dozens of JuJu Bees pelting me. In the face, the neck...they're all over my bed, the room, it's a JuJu Bee bonanza. I think we wrestled(shirts on) for a bit and then became great friends. Girls write notes describing their deeply personal traits and guys throw JuJu Bees at each other.
Oh man Beautiful Girls is on. Talk about Value Add...
"Whadya you think numb nuts? Girl like that is born with a boyfriend."
FEELING GOOD BILLY RAY!!
As the dude who first turned you onto Beautiful Girls, I think I deserve some consideration for your marriage proposal. Yes, I'm married. But I'm still interested in man marriage of the hetero variety, and I think my panther picture would go great on our wall. I also have a beer pong table.

According to my Trading Places DVD subtitle; the song's lyrics are the following:
Zeta Chi,
Zeta Chi, my friend
'Neath the elms we sing our tones
We're brothers to the end
Muffy in the bathroom stall
Margaret by the lake
Susan down in Whitsley Hall
Constance on the make
Constance Fry,
Constance Fry,
Anytime you'd call
Constance would fulfill your needs,
Winter, Spring, or Fall.
Take care.
